I would like to prematurely post a dedication for my spinoff blog (
Shoe Shop Talk, yes, that's it over there on the right under my shoe blog blogroll) about shoes that are both stylish and comfortable. It is inspired by a woman working at the
Maison Creole in the Providenciales airport where I bought my only souvenir — a horn necklace from Haiti (not more than 90 miles south).
While I stood there trying to decide which necklace to buy, the woman said her feet hurt, which was when I noticed she was barefoot. She said she stood for most of every day. I peeked at her shoes over by the register. Turquoise mini-wedge strappy sandals, I think.
Later, I realized this woman was a prime customer for the kind of shoe that I want to write about. And so I am dedicating my in-the-works blog —
Shoe Shop Talk — to her and women all over who need to stand or want to walk for long periods and who want comfortable shoes that make their feet feel and look good.
